sASHA gALITZKI

A lifelong outdoorswoman, Sasha has been enjoying the ups and downs of adventures outside ever since she was catapulted out of her dad’s ski pack and into a snowdrift as a baby. As an adult, she's become an avid mountaineer, skier, paddler, and climber. She threw bombs for a living as a professional ski patroller in Tahoe. She holds an FKT for climbing the 32 peaks of Waterton Lakes National Park. She’s a Certified Whitewater Canoeist and has rafted the Grand Canyon twice. Today, she lives in Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and, try as she might, still hasn’t run out of mountains to climb.

Her love for high places & hard things lead her to acrobatics in 2008, and she's been hooked ever since. She holds coaching certifications in three different acrobatic disciplines and is the Founder & Director of Cirque Aurora, which shares the wonder & spectacle of circus arts throughout the Rockies.

It was only a matter of time before she combined her love of wild places with her love for artistic movement. She specializes in creative photo, film, and performance projects in nature and loves nothing more than a good adventure, whether it's performing in a blizzard, over an alpine lake, or even inside a glacial ice cave.

Inspired by the strength and fragility of frozen environments, Sasha also aims to shine a light on the vulnerability of cold places in our warming world. In July 2024, Sasha faced a devastating personal loss when a wildfire destroyed her home and much of her Jasper community - including a canyon featured in Wild Aerial. The film is dedicated to all those affected by the wildfire.
